Good guy alert, member rhad! - 01/18/20 01:25 AM

Fellow Moparts member and Dakota owner, rhad, read my post about the tach in my '93 Dakota going out and PM'ed me that he had an extra one he'd be willing to sell.

We agreed upon a price, and a few days later, I sent the money via paypal.

A very short time after, my payment came back as a credit. I thought I had screwed something up when I sent it, but turns out rhad had just refunded my money and told me to 'pay it forward'.

We're not talking a huge sum of money here, but he didn't even keep any of my payment to cover shipping.

Thank you sir! It was greatly appreciated! beer

Gee, wonder what I'll be doing tomorrow................... work hammer biggrin

Good deal for sure.

Replied to mention if it still has issues, try to re-flow the larger solder joints on the little circuit board that snaps onto the outside of the cluster. Mine would pretty much stay stuck at 2k rpm when not idling, and the solder trick fixed it. I learned the trick from either turbododge.com or turbo-mopar.com, since the Daytonas have a similar board. I think the Dakota cluster was originally parts-bin-sourced from a fwd car (Shadow, IIRC, but not sure).
