spring fling 2020 dates

anyone know the dates for the 2020 spring fling

I think I saw on Facebook that tentatively it will be April 18th and 19th. I believe they are awaiting confirmation from the city.

The unofficial start is on the 15th at Willow Springs raceway BBQ and hang out, then on the 16th it is the big day for track time at Willow Springs with all your favourite Mopars and others. this part of the event is hosted by Tim Herron of All Time Racing.

Then there is the Friday that has the great Mulholland cruise, or to do what you want with the car world around LA and hit up Bob's drive in at night (I like the Burbank Bob's)
Saturday and Sunday is the show and swap at Woodley park in Van Nuys.
I have been coming out to Spring Fling for over 12 years from Toronto, the highlight of the weekend has got to be the day at Willow Springs and hitting the track with the great friends I have made on this annual adventure.
Come on out for a great time.

I believe I saw something about theCity for L.A. banned all events with more than 250 peeps and has CLOSED all the parks. Is Woodley a city park?

Not trying to stir the pot but

According to the City of LA they have banned gatherings of 50 or more on city properties. Hopefully the CPW crew is looking into this. Also, FYI. Don’t make motel reservations on any of the online sites likeTravelocity. They sometimes don’t grant refunds. Better to reserve a room directly through the hotel. I’m still planning on attending but remain flexible.

Same here, plan on going but keeping all my options open.

Everything is fluid. Our local schools are closed until April 13. This is probably four weeks longer than necessary (yes, do the math), but certainly 2 weeks longer. I don't know what LA is doing, but they are probably following a similar timeline.

I’m willing to go but it looks like air travel will be canceled in the near future sucks as I haven’t missed a spring fling in 15 years ! DOH...

I will be there. Though not sure if I'm going to swap though. I could sell car parts, but Toilet paper. Hand sanitizer, bio suits and face masks might be the way to go.

We are in contact with the park as of Friday.

Everything is as planned as of now. Only time will tell where this thing takes us.

From a promoters standpoint, seems like you could go almost down to the wire before a voluntary cancel. Not sure what deposits, insurance, etc costs that would forfeit.

The main issue would seem to be how much ill will with attendees that would generate. I would guess anything less then a weeks cancellation notice would be a negative.

So wait it out?

No reason to cancel early, unless postponing.

Their problem is availability of the park. They have to compete for times throughout the spring and fall for use of the park. Goodguys in Ft Worth was canceled the day before it was scheduled. I’m sure there were some unhappy campers.

It’s 5 weeks from now.

2 weeks ago the world was a different place.

We’re going to see what sorts out for a couple more.

WE are not going to cancel just before for the show.

We are in dialogue with the people that run the facility.

LA County just announced they are shut down until April 19th...not looking good. We'll see what happens in a month.

We are going to try to contact them today.

Spring Fling April 18 & 19, 2020 Canceled **See you at Fall Fling October 24, 2020…..

This is with much heavy heart, but we wanted to get the word out as soon as we confirmed with the City government. We will miss our Mopar Community coming together for a 34th time in April, but we hope to see you all in October.

Spring Fling 34 has officially been canceled due to the latest government Covid-19 mandate.

Chrysler Performance West Car Club is very sorry about the unfortunate situation in these unprecedented times. We appreciate your patience as club volunteers work on refunding event pre-registration fees.

Be assured Spring Fling will be back next year as strong as before.

Our Fall Fling 25th Anniversary event is confirmed for October 24, 2020 for your Mopar fix. Check website and social media for info and announcements.

No available park dates from September to December. Sunday not available for Fall Fling date.

Yes.

Except the major expense of postage and flyer printing cost.

But we are still refunding all pre reg, midway and sponsorship payments. We are not going transfer payments to Fall Fling. We just don’t feel that’s right.

That’s really upstanding. You guys run a great show and I look forward to attending future events.

Why not give them the option?

Sure its commendable, but may not be necessary, and just wasting money and time?
