Engineering drawings for 70 Challenger - 11/25/11 06:53 PM

Hi

Where can I found the old engineering drawings that used to be available in the past at Hamtramck Historical website?

At the moment I would need the engineering drawing for luggage rack installation and bumble bee painting.

I believe Daimler-Chrysler (back in the day) had most of the stuff that was posted online removed. I don't know the full story, but I believe these guys entered into an agreement with Chrysler and are publishing the engineering and assembly documents under license.

They have released some but haven't hit the 1970-71 E-bodies yet
I sure hope they do someday. I called the company today to see if I could get an update but didn't have any luck finding anyone who could give me any specifics.

I wish I had down loaded them when on the other site as others did.

Would be nice to post them again vs basically having issued a cease and desist order and not releasing them period.

Instead of a flash mob, some tech savy guy creates a site, everyone posts what they have, then we all get them, and then it fades away if needed.

i couldn`t work out how to get the right front nut onto a challenger decklid. the cuda decklids had all the holes in the inner skin to access the nuts but on a challenger??? see attached pics of a luggage rack on a challenger.
all the best

these pics were from a moparts member many years ago-it`s an original luggage rack car with original decklid.

Why do you need to get to the nut? It's a nut-sert & if properly installed it is locked to the sheet metal & won't spin...

Correct that's what item #2 is in the engineering drawing, a "riv-nut", installed just like a pop rivet, except it has threads internally....just like what holds your side-view mirrors on

Re: Engineering drawings for 70 Challenger - 11/26/11 10:02 AM

that makes sense-remember i`m in west australia and what most mopar people take for granted in u.s.a is different than here-there isn`t an original luggage rack decklid over here. i`ve never seen half the things that most of you have. thanx for the explanation-if i ever want to install the luggage rack that i have on a spare cuda decklid onto my challenger i know how-we do have nutserts here.
thanx again

Anyone have the engineering drawings for the 72 Cuda V21 performance "black out" treatment hood option?

IIRC, Ehrenberg at Mopar Action has put a lot of that info in the magazine over the last couple years; try their website.
