I've seen both on '69's also and with no rhyme or reason. The '68's mostly (all?) seem to be the long version, my '69-1/2 A12 RR with black interior are original and long. A '69 Hemi RR "survivor" that is always at the Nat's has the long version on a green interior. They are, or should be, the same front and rear regardless of long or short. Little rant here from me "why doesn't Legendary Interiors or someone make reproduction seat medallions with the number of Mopars that used them?" Seems like an added money maker when you sell a set of covers IMO

they shoud be long and match the color interior. check out www.a12mopar.com and go to the "lift off forum". search around. there are definitely some pics over there.

I wonder if the assembly plant made a difference? Most of the long versions I've seen on RR's (i.e, A12's) have been on Lynch Road (A) built cars to around 9A30XXXX VIN's. Which plant was your RR built in? My A12 RR was an early May '69 build with a 9A27XXXX VIN (long medallions) and June built Lynch Road cars were in the 9A28XXXX - 9A30XXXX IIRC? Maybe we can figure out a ballpark change over at least at one plant? And this doesn't need to be just RR's right, didn't the Satellite's also use the same "decor" medallions?

Here is a pic of those medallions.
I am betting there was a couple of vendors for these.
This photo was posted the last time someone asked about them.

The long ones went in a 69 RR..not too much interest in the short ones.

If you have ever taken one apart you will appreciate Mopar engineering. I don't know if a vendor would want to take on such a project.

Starting on the back side: There is a a base plate with two studs. Next is the raised center part with the vinyl molded to it. Then the outer chrome trim. All three parts are crimped together. It is attached to the seat with backing plate that is a one time use item.

Addtionally, the lower picture is not a 69 RR, the medallions are further apart on the 69's. I am almost positive that medallions in the picture are from a 68 RR.

I can confirm that statement because that's my photo(s) and that's my '68 rear seat back with the tape measure. The top photo is from the '69 Hemi RR survivor and taken at Carlisle and they are a little wider as you pointed out but still seem to be longer than another medallion that is also out there.

So '68 RR medallions are long and the thinnest and '69 RR medallions are about the same lenght but slightly wider.........

this was also in the group of photos taken at Carlisle and I think it's from a '69 RR too....this is getting so confusing as they look like what should be '68's
