Cuda Color FT6 (Burnt Tan Metallic) - 05/27/11 01:30 PM
I am stripping and restoring my Cuda to it's original FT6. How can I be sure I am getting the correct paint and especially color?

Well, most decent brands of paint should have a formula for FT6 (which is a great color BTW).
What I did was to save a pce of paint from an unfaded and well covered area of the car (in my case the front window channel) and I had my painter mix a pint and spray a sample in both Sherwin Williams and PPG base clear....I went with the Ditzler/PPG product.
hope this helps

I re-painted a '70 RR years ago that was FT6 Burnt Tan and the PPG code crosses over to a GM Chestnut brown color now. Have your guy custom mic it for you using a sample from your Cuda. The cross over color is wayyyy off.

If you go with PPG single stage enamel you have a very good chance of getting the right color.

Thanks, is enamel the preferred type of paint for a true resto?

That Cuda looks like FK5 but I might be wrong. My old T/A is FT6.
