A833 Shifter Plates - 04/13/11 01:49 AM

I got to looking at the shifter brackets on Brewers and they have 2 holes in each for the rods to connect too. Are these correct for my unit? The rods that came with these are correct for a 73-74 Ebody? What is the purpose of the double holes?

It's for short or long throw.

Comparison.
Outer Hole - Longer Shift
Inner Hole - Shorter Shift

I think the 2 hole version was first used on the AAR & TA's.
It may have been part of the side cover upgrade?

It's special feature from Brewer's: They allow to use the non-standard holes to get a shorter throw.

I've got them too and didn't know it too - so I asked THEM.

The 057 & 058 levers shown in the picture I posted are NOS Chrysler parts.

057 - 3515057 Third & Fourth
058 - 3515058 Low & Second

Brewers did not invent this two hole feature.

As stated above by Snoopy; The two hole E-body shift arms first appeared around the production of the AAR Cuda and T/A Challenger. Later in production they have been found on other engine combinations.

One the other members on here with an AAR posed this question to me to see if I had seen any facts to whether AARs & TAs had single hole levels or dual holes. My shifter and linkage is believed to be original (unless Brian knows something I don't about, he's welcome to chime in) and it is of the single hole variety with 407 SPD so later in the builds. I have also looked many AARs & TA's for ference when I was building mine, many of those were unrestored originals. I also have Barry's DVD of the ultra low mileage TA. I spent about a half goign through all my pictures this morning and I cannot find a single AAR or TA with a dual pattern lever, in addition I cant remember ever seeing a dual pattern lever even used on one. Not definite by any means but from what I have seen I would say the dual patterns were not used on ANY AAR or TA muchless ALL of them. But of course it's Chrysler so never say NEVER or ALWAYS!

What is the part number for he 363 and 366 ? I wonder if these are 71 for use with the 71 B body to shorten the throw on the bench seat shifter?
