I was cutting back on paint, doing less harm to the ozone, less VOC emmisions, etc so I only painted half.

My 61 Seneca's 318 Poly.Yeah the goofy bypass is gone. One neat thing..every single fastener on this engine has the DPCD logo.
25 thousand original miles just resealed it and gunned it down.
Original clutch is still mint.

I thought this was for just stock motors, but that is a nice "restified" touch. I bet you get a lot of questions with the hood open(and off the wall statements).

Did you fabricate and roll that air cleaner yourself? From scratch or have something to start with?

I assume you dont run a wiper motor?

Do you get a lot of motor noise amplified through the cowl?

Any pics with the air cleaner off showing the firewall hole and seal?

Decided to ditch the aluminum valve covers and paint the Indy EZ's so it would look more stock....to the non-Mopart's people.

Re: Show us your freshly Painted Engines - 02/22/11 04:18 AM

Autox & Shaker -
Made the air cleaner myself; it's a thin fiberglass lid over a drop base. No hole in the firewall, the regulator & etc is there; the lid's open around the perimeter.
The idea was to look like a NASCAR Max Wedge until I got around to doing the crossram, but yeah it's been pretty popular; I've thought about doing something similar for my Street Hemi Roadrunner.

Been toying with the idea of making a functional one. There is a lot of forced air in the cowl. But was thinking of something off to the side like the 67 Z28 cowl induction deal. So I could still have wipers.
