70 Super Bee White Interior Question - 02/09/11 04:31 PM

I have a question. I have a Lime Green 70 Bee with White Interior. Now I know the dash and carpet are supposed to be black but the guy I got the car from said it called for a black headliner. Is this the way it is supposed to look or is it white headliner, white visors, white door panels, white seats and black carpet and dash.

Please help if you know the answer???

Thanks for the ad space

Dave

Everything should be white except for:
seatbelts
carpet
dash
kickpanels
A pillar covers
upper windshield trim
package tray
console (if equipped)

too.

Those non white components aren't always black either. Depending on the color code, you could have white/blue, white/green/ white/burnt orange, etc.

It's rare to find those combos, but they were available.

My car with a deluxe bench F8 interior had a white headliner.....never could figure that out as every F8 interior I've seen with the exception of mine had a green headliner...

I am not sure what it called exactly but how about the side headliner trim ? Over the door and quarter windows ? Rear window interior trim ?

Trim should match headliner color.

Package tray would match dash, carpet, console, etc., color

Hi,

I had a factory FJ5 Bee with white interieur, too.
Still had the original headliner and it was white

Interesting that the pink Bee has a white package tray. I have never seen this before in a B body.

The white package tray was at the request of the customer-they are supposed to be black. BTW, I recently documented another Bee that had a;; white interior and a black headliner-pretty strange indeed.

I would be interested to know if more people have seen black headliners with the white interior. My 70 Charger R/T that I bought as a disassembled roller had remnants of a black headliner around the perimeter inside.

What a clusterfunk that could turn out to be....
I realize "the customer's always right"....

But it's your restoration company that stands behind these beautiful restorations, it's your company that displays these car and is right there when they are being judged...

So now several things could happen...
People, like myself who have nothing but respect for the caliber of work you guys preform, can walk away thinking the 70 Bee's with white interior must have white package trays....
OR I could be thinking...what a couple of buffoons...don't even know what colour the package tray is supposed to be...

Either or....a lot of people look at cars of this caliber as a reference point for their own cars....

One silly decision by the "car's owner" can start everybody , especially on an otherwise "stock" looking car

Aside from the correctness issue, I cannot imaging trying to keep a white package tray clean (assuming it's made from the same stuff as the stock trays).
