Why am I seeing a listing in the Hamtramck Registry library [for example 1968 ] under color chips"- "1968 Interior colors" at bottom of page. 389-2076 trunk interior {splatter finish }?

I recall some old dealer reference mat'l listing it as avaliable over the parts counter, and IIRC, dealer applied,...but I think it was "aimed" at C body usage

The Newark, DE c-body assembly plant used "trunk splatter" in '70 (probaby other years also).

So did the "C" Jefferson MI plant because my 70 Newport has spatter paint

Some mid '60s B-bodies also got splatter paint in the trunk.

my '66 monaco had it...maybe my '68 polara too. can't say for sure on that one.
