67 GTX Insterment Restoration ?

67 GTX Insterment Restoration ? - 01/29/08 01:05 AM

I am looking to have a complete gauge cluster along with the bezel and glove box door restored for a 67 GTX. I am looking for some input on where the best work is being done. Should I figure on sending the gauges out to one shop and the plastic parts that will need chromed to another. Or is there QUALITY 1 stop shops for both of these services?
I know there are a lot of places offering these services today, I am looking for quality work.

Thanks
Dan

Of the shops listed, how many of them do all the work in house. I don't like the idea of shops farming out parts of the job.

Thanks

Hi, feel free to email me if you have any questions. All my work is handled in house from mechanical to dial silkscreening. Thanks. Mike

www.gcartrim.com does all of his work in house, including plastic chrome plating. He orders some parts as needed from various vendors such as instrument specialties etc. but does all assembly, dissasembly, chroming, detailing, and most gauge rebuilding himself, he does awesome work.

FYI the guys at Redline DO the instruments. They send the plastic/chrome work to Glenn at GCAR. I have been using these guys for years and I will tell you they are both the best.

Scott, I e mailed Glenn about doing the work for me. He told me to send the gauges to Redline? So they must not do all the work in house. Looks like I will have to use a couple different venders to get whatI want done.

Thanks

I remember talking to one of the Hudson's at Redline a few years ago and they mentioned that they also do some of Performance Car Graphics overflow/instrument work as well.

Here's Redlines's before and after instrument work that I had them do. They did the woodgrain also.

Well there you have it from the horses mouth, however I know he CAN do it all in house as I've seen him do it, maybe his sending Redline his overflow as PCG has done? Either way if you want it done right he can handle it, he does very high quality work.

Cheers!

GCAR did the plastic parts to my dash and Redline did my gauges. Both companies did excellent work.

We've never sent anything, nothing, zippo, to Redline Gauges. They must have us confused with some other company.

Dan, I do appreciate you contacting me
We do just the 68-70 B-body and 70-74 E-body ralley gauges. When a customer wants the decal reface kit for these we do it all, full cluster restoration, nothing left out including switch rebuild/rechroming along with plastic panel rechroming. When they want just the screen printed refacing I send the job to Redline because I know them and trust them, they treat their customers with respect and they are perfectionists. I can be sure I am sending you to a place that has as high of standards as I do and you wont be disappointed.

I want the people that contact me, to get the best possible restoration of their parts weather I do it, or I send you to someone else. The end result is that you, the customer, are HAPPY with the work you receive and don't add your experience up the many other horror stories out there.
