71/72 Seat backs where to get good quality

Well, we don't have to get into the discussion that there's nothing on the planet reproduction that's any good.

Unlike the current offerings from other suppliers that are vacuum formed plastic, these are injected from the original material.

Anyone that has spent any length of time with me knows I'm into ebodies. The seat you're looking at I took out of my 71 340 that desparately needed new seat backs.

I will be posting pictures of the 70 seat backs going into the pint T/A we are doing once I get the 71's back in the car.

Looking at the seat backs as a customer would, which I am, sitting back and getting that initial knee jerk reaction and WOW.

The 70's are finished and being shipped, these are the first set of 71/72 that I'm test fitting to varify the inserts for the tool to make the molded side elbows are correct.

Here's the grain. If you can look at this picture and see a difference you're better than I'm because I have them both in my hand and I can't tell.

is that a late build 71 340 with the small button buckets? When did they go from tall to small chrome button? BTW the backs look great!

Ive seen this in the new products catigory and Im very impressed by your quality. I will soon be ordering a set along with a bunch of other stuff. seems like the change over to the smaller chrome button was in late February IIRC

Here is the latch side of the 70+ seat back. If you've put together enough of these seats you already know the metal elbow on the other side of the seat fits a little better than the latch side. It doesn't have anything to do with the seat back, it's in the metal latch cover itself.

Otherside. The only thing I modified on the seat backs was on the inside of the top 2 mounting screws. I took a little material off the inside plastic post so the top of the seat back would pull in tighter.

Whites are next, I have a really good sample of the color from one of my original panels to reproduce it from. And you guessed it, the first 2 sets of white will be going in my cars.
