How much of the car was assembled when it was... - 01/25/10 12:40 AM

I have two questions I guess. All pertaining to my 71 roadrunner.

first, how much of the car was assembled when it was painted from the factory? as in, were the fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid bolted on?

second, how much of the car was assembled when they undercoated them? Was it near the last thing done to the car? or one of the first things?

I apologize if this has been asked before, but i couldn't find anything in the search. thanks in advance!

doors, hood , fenders,Etc. were on when painted.

Undercoating was done late in the build,Usually right over the lines etc.

Some sound deading (undercoating) was pre-applied to parts like rear quarters & door skins.

Wheel wells were done after paint.

Bottom of car was done after / near final assembly.
