Semi Flat Black Paint

Hello-
Back in the day, Krylon 1613 Semi Flat Black was the go-to paint for various finishes.

I'm having trouble finding Krylon at all, much less Semi Flat. And I learned neither Satin nor Semi-Gloss works.

Can anyone suggest alternatives?

This: Krylon K01613A00 Semi Flat Black according to the other brand car forums is the old Krylon 1613 and only available as "industrial" paint. Available at Granger, and most industrial supply places and Amazon and a few other online stores.

Hmm. I'd guess availability is somewhat limited because of the "l" word (lacquer).

Several Krylon colors have been discontinued, or are harder to find. The local Sherwin Williams paint store stocks Krylon spray cans, and the employee there told me they had a chemical plant fire in Texas making it harder for them to keep paint on shelves.

There's a reason it's called "the industry standard".. This stuff makes a good painter out of a bad one...lol..

SEM trim black just works! Good stuff.

Agree but if you have ever used Krylon 1613 Semi-Flat like for the behind the grille blackout or on anything or anywhere else there is a big, big difference between SEM or any other brand of trim paint and the original 1613 Semi-Flat. Trim paint is thin and has no real "meat" to it. That's just one point.

I have used the DUPI COLOR paints and they spray out better than the old Krylon brand stuff . They have like 4 shades of black that work well and are sold I most part stores around here .

I used SEM 15014 with a paint gun before with good results. This was used for interior trim pieces. I would trust SEM more than what you can get in your local home improvement store(Krylon/Duplicolor).
