Hi,
Need a little help here.

We just purchased a '70 R/T. It is a Lynch Road car.

Can this fender tag be decoded? Is anyone able to?
I do have the build sheet and window sticker but i wanted to see whats on the tag.

Thanks

First off, congratulations on your new car! Second, it's very nice to see you have the corresponding documentation to go with the car.
Looks like you're car was built September 2nd. at the Dodge main plant Lynch Road... obviously!
Dan....(6bblgt) is great, along with many others on here, at decoding and breaking down all the numbers.

Did a Google search, found some interesting info on Lynch gate series, but the top couple rows on Lynch tags are mostly unique.
I ran out of time before finding definitive meanings for the top rows, but they refer to engine/trans/rear axle, IIRC.
Bottom rows decode like other plants.

Thanks for the tag decode. I have never had a Lynch Road tag.

Is this the tentative window sticker?

The car was scheduled to be built on September 2nd 1969 , that doesn't mean it actually was , the 2 sheets he posted above might nail it down closer to the actual date.

Looking at them I think one was printed 8/22 and the other 9/19 ??

Re: 1970 Coronet R/T Lynch Road Fender Tag - 08/18/23 06:07 PM

yes, that's the "TENTATIVE" window sticker that was printed 8/22/69 before pricing was finalized - the second label was printed 9/19/69 with prices

the car looks like it was "In Plant/In Process" on 9/12/69, ~10 days LATE - Lynch Rd. is good for K-frame assembly date inspection stamps close to final assembly date

Not even going to ask what the A12 at the bottom of the Monroney/Window sticker is about.......unless it means October 12th? wink

A12 is the routing (shipping) code to get from the plant to the dealership

Here are some pics.

Unrestored with 58k miles. Little rust in lower rear quarters and small spot in the corner of the dutchman panel.

Love the time-capsule cars; lately, I've been enjoying my original car more than my restored one.
For some reason - maybe ignorance of '70 Coronet details - I thought the grilles on some had a red/orange border trim ?

Love it!!! Just don't see the 70 R/T to often. The combo of the side scoops and twin scoop hood is mmmmmmmmm!!!

Why is it some cars with the Ramcharger option have an oval air cleaner lid and others like this one have a smaller round air cleaner lid ?

Year and number of carbs.

69, the first year, ALL were oval lid . A 6pk lid is different than the 4bbl/hemi lid.

70/up, 6pk and Hemi are oval, different lids due to spacing of the hold down studs, 4bbl is always round.

the car looks like it was "In Plant/In Process" on 9/12/69, ~10 days LATE - Lynch Rd. is good for K-frame assembly date inspection stamps close to final assembly date

Dan how are you determining "In Plant/ In Process" ?

Odd as I know of 2 440 4bbl R//T's that had the oval lid

1969s or added? multiple carburetors for '70 are the only ones listed for the oval filter

Re: 1970 Coronet R/T Lynch Road Fender Tag - 08/24/23 12:42 PM

one of them had the oval lid back in the 70's when I first saw the car, guess it could have been changed way back then, but still odd

If it were a very early production car anything is possible but everything that we know , including dealer brochures?, says otherwise.
