70 cuda window crank - 09/13/22 03:29 PM

The knobs on my window crank have crumbled due to age. I ordered a replacement but they're not a true match. Is the broken one factory and if so can you just get replacement knobs? Thanks Mike

as the knobs are riveted to the handle, way back in the day, i had accumulated a bunch of them because they would bind up and break the rivet.
i think that was because we just cranked on them in a haphazard way, and with the slightest bind, the rivet was the weakest link.
we sold lots of those handles back in my junkyard ownership days, 1972-1984.
over the years, the ones i had squirreled away became missing............
i don't believe the knobs are sold separately.

Here's an old original. This should give an idea, I guess it's +/- a bit.

The difference is on the bolt end. It hard to see but the replacement is more square on the end and the one I took off has a taper to it. I have no idea if the broken one is factory or not. Not a numbers show car so no big deal but the chrome is great on them and if factory might be worth keeping.

I see what you mean, thanks for clearing that up. All my factory ones have that "taper" on the bolt end.
