1970 Cuda Hockey stripe color - 05/02/22 03:04 PM

I have a little discussion going about the colors that were available on the 1970 Cuda hockey stripe with a fellow Mopar guy. The point of discussion is whether you could get only a black stripe and not white stripe from the factory. What say ye?

That's what I thought that Ma Mopar only had matte black hockey stripe in 70. Thanks for the answers and confirmation. Won a beer on that one.

No, hockey stripes are gloss black. I have numerous NOS kits on hand that prove that.
Also, Dave Patik has always stated on his website that original stripe color is gloss black.

Well I gotta go with Mike. Gloss it is. My bet was they were only available in black so I still won a beer.

I only remember them in a glossy black back when they were new, but I'm not an E-body guru.
I think the flat black stripes for various cars are an aftermarket invention, and though I like the look on black cars, I can't recall ever seeing them in flat black "back in the day".
Seems to me that they'd be white on dark cars, like Daytona & R/T stripes and various A-bodies were, but I can't recall.
A buddy with a black '70 HemiCuda has red hockey sticks, but I recall him saying they were done during an '80s restoration and were incorrect.
They look good, though.
