70 GTX Seat Belts - 10/24/21 04:57 PM

I need to get the seat belts in my GTX restored. I might even be missing a couple of pieces. Is there anyone out there doing belts in a reasonable time frame or is it better just to buy the reproduction ones?

The reviews for the Edwards over the last year, or so, are pretty bad. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there doing belts these days that might be more dependable and not a total ripoff.

John Rimel

Mesa, AZ 85215

He did my 70 GTX belts.
Was 2 years ago - don't know if he still does them.

EXCELLENT work.

Don't know if he is on Moparts but is on B-Body-Only website (dart4forte)

Pretty sure John was brokering work for Bill Edwards. I know Bill has had some recent health issues. Seems they are affecting his business and customer service. Too bad.....great guy and really nice work.

There's a place in TX called Ssnake-Oyl (their spelling, and definitely an odd name for a business) that re-does belts.
I haven't used them but would imagine they're still in business, used to see ads in Hemmings I think.

I have used them to do the seat belts in both Vettes I restored over the years.
Superb work - very busy, and give yourself LOTS of lead time.
They always had a long wait queue - so no telling what things are like now.

I used “Sharon’s Web” several years ago and was very happy with the results. She originally worked for Snake-oyl and broke off to run her own shop. She retire recently and a new person is running it now. They were at the Mopar Nats this year so they’re still an option.
