carpet instalation ?? - 04/04/09 03:33 AM
Hello, those out there who installed carpet in your machines, do you recommend putting sound deadening material down first? Thanks

Carpet already has sound deadening material built in. Personally I think all that dynamat, fatmat, crapmat is silly and a waste of money; not to mention, added weight.

[ I believe challenger one used the insulation that has foil on both sides with the bubbles sandwiched inbetween??

I have to put out a warning here, some of the foil looking wrapped bubble stuff is crazy flammable.
Some of it uses a real metal foil and some of it is metalized mylar.
Real foil = good
Mylar = burn baby burn

Challenger1, did you get the stuff from Home Depot?

my truck got the entire floor, firewall, doors,(later not in this pic) with the b-quiet. this is the rubber type stuff with the foil top.
my one issue with you guys using the stuff from home depot if if water gets under it its not going to dry and rot your floors badly unless its sealed really well. i would maybe put it on a roof but never a floor.
