AMD 68 Charger Doors Any Good? - 02/03/21 01:53 PM

Has anyone used the AMD doors for 68 Charger? Are they any good or should we just put a door skin on our door? Any help appreciated.

When I 1st started using AMD back in 2009 when they were just getting produced. I asked Allen at AMD what the quality was on them as they were still in production development. His statement was they had passed all test fitting except for a couple holes on the inner panel area that was being retooled. He assured me that I would not have any issues with them. Got them. Installed them on the car with no issues. Sanded the e coat and applied a few coats of surfacer and blocked them out and had them ready for paint in no time. All guts fit in them just fine.

Not sure how Charger pieces fit, but every piece I bought from AMD to redo the '68 Dart (quarters, fenders, floor pan) fit very nicely and needed very little work.

A friend of mine who put a complete pass. side door on his General Lee he is rebuilding fit like crap. He said it was like the skin was shifted back compared to the inside frame of the door. He really had to shim out the door striker in order for the latch to properly close.
