Challenger side window top gaps and fitment

Challenger side window top gaps and fitment - 11/30/20 07:35 PM

Hey everyone,

Could someone be kind enough to post a photo showing how the tops of the quarter windows and side windows should seat against the upper rubber weatherstrip? I've just installed my rear quarter windows and none of my reference photos show this well. I'm trying to figure out how far up the windows go and if they rest on the outside of the rubber or actually go into the groove in it. IIRC, they slide up and against the outside. Thank you!

Looking around on line, I found several different scenarios. Which is correct fitment or closest to correct? 1, 2, 0r 3?

#1 is not right. The glass needs to go up against that lip in the seal. It looks like #2 and #3 are just slight differences in the adjustment and either one would be acceptable. It just comes down to how much adjustment in the glass you have. Each car is probably slightly different. But I'm no expert. Adjusting the glass is one thing that makes me nervous. I had help adjusting the glass on my Challenger.

Thanks Darren. I am in agreement with you, did not think pic 1 was accurate, pic 3 is what I was thinking would be correct. But my weather strip kind of looks like pic 1. I went back and checked, this weather strip is Metro. What brand weather strip did you use on you Challenger? This is what my passenger side looks like. If you notice, the rubber hangs down pretty much equally and is not staggered as in pic 3. I put a yellow line where the groove is. The photo with the window up shows how I have it adjusted on the driver side and it comes up and sits on the outside of the rubber weather strip. Is this even close to correct? I could live with this, but not sure how the door window is going to sit. My passenger side does not sit like this, it sets more inward towards the groove of the rubber and needs more adjustment to get it looking like this.
