PP1 Color 1968

Hello Guys
It's my first post here so Hello from Europe. I looking for information about PP1 red. I have dodge charger 1968 440 RT and I rebuilding him. I ask many paint mixing plants in Poland and no one have recipe for PP1. I was asking with following codes - Chrysler DT3277 , PPG - 71483 , Dupont 4770LH, 4770H , 93-97813M and Sikkens 407h5 and I try in Spies Hecker. Can someone share the recepture pp1 so that I can do it in Poland ? or
help some other way ? Best regards Guys

Welcome to the board. Poland ! That can't be easy doing an old American car there.
It's hard here in the US to get the old colors matched, even with the old codes.
A buddy's shop uses Spies-Hecker, and they provided a bunch of color samples of reds, greens, blues, etc.
If you can find a shop spraying that brand, look through those and match to an area of your car that hasn't been damaged from exposure.
A color from another car can be tintable if not an exact match.

At my car I dont have orginal paint left. He was matted out. I hide some metal where is painted red something like cherry in dark but I saw car was painted (saw dust paint on lower window inside ).That car have other bright red on it like emblems RT red on upper rear lamps (banana). I am confused becouse I have 2 colors reds, there are old , they dont shining like new so I wannt to make sure that I will pain him in right color matching to pp1 for make very close when he was in 1968. I know that chrysler have in 1968-70 5 red colors - PP1,331,R4,R6,FE5 and are very difrent .

Best places to find original color are on rear package tray, under windshield seal, or behind/under trim (like step plates or moldings) that weren't removed for repaint.
Cowl, upper firewall, upper fender aprons can also help, carefully remove an area of paint there.

Sounds like he does not have a good place to match so he just needs a paint company to mix some here.

Nothing sand cut it all. Recive from PPG orginal recipe for 68 looks ok but that pigments are with PB and they are stop manufacturing it so looking for recipe with will be for new pigments?
There are PPG pigments 717 and 785 and 707 and 703 .

Yes, the old toners (pigments) are mostly if not completely gone now.
You will run into this again for the tail panel blackout, but that's easier to work around.
Later this week I'll try to visit my buddy's shop with my color chart and see what Spies-Hecker has.
Surprised nobody's posted any photos of a PP1 car.

I have a 68 Road Runner in PP1. My car was painted about 10 years ago and I still have a small can left over for touch ups but doubt it is still good anymore. The can is PPG Deltron and has a code of 71966 . The restoration shop sprayed out several test cards at the time and we matched it best we could to some of the original paint still remaining behind the tail lights. This was a 10K mileage car that had been garaged since new. I'm not a paint guy but I hope the code will make sense to someone and help you out. Good luck!

Found 2 colors today in Spies-Hecker that are quite close to the PP1 color on the 2 charts I have.
GM 9260
Audi LY3J
Those will both be recent colors.

My 68 Charger RT is PP1, and was done with Sikkens paint. If you use a PPG paint mixer, you can go by application, selecting year and make and you get correct paint shade. Or you can go to an automotive paint shop that sells Sikkens paint, and with the number you can get the correct PP1 paint. Keep in mind that sometimes it doesnt shop as Dodge but as Chrysler. But codes are different even if names are different.
On the Sikkens paint book, it is listed as CHA 66 Scorch Red 407 H5, used by Chrysler vehicles from 66 to 68. It interchanges with some japanese car..will have to check on the paint can

OK @Topside I make a sample (1 pic) to Audi LY3J but Audi color it is too bright with my tag. I forgot I have tag with old paint not cut but in not good shape . In pic 2 it is GM 9260 better but it is like Red Bridght 331. I ask one more paint shop and they make me from Dupont PP1 they had recipe for it from 66-68 (Pic 3) But it is very dark. @68jim I ask PPG about 71966 no recipe @antonellomopar I call to my local Sikkens paint shop and they have recipe but the dont have 2 or 3 pigments and thay can sell it only 1.5 L becouse they need to supply it for me. And I dont wannt to buy it without making a sample of it. So that One from duponte it is probobly PP1 ? The pictures dont give it in full In the middle is dark red that one from Duponte left it is GM and right Audi pic 4

3rd photo down looks closest on my monitor.
I'd recommend you polish your fender tag a bit and compare again.
Bear in mind that toners - pretty much all paint chemicals, really - are different now.
Your guy may have to tint whatever's closest but he should be able to do that.

Yes but only on photo. In real it is dark that one is in middle on pic 4
