Attaching door glass edge trim - help needed - 05/31/20 05:13 AM

The vertical stainless door glass trim edgeing recently popped off and I’m not sure what adhesive to use to reattach it? This is on a 1966 Belvedere 2 door hardtop. Any help would be appreciated!

I used butyl tape on mine. Work it to thin it then place over the glass then fit your trim piece until it fit snugly . I got mine from a local glass place they gave me 2 rolls.

Butyl tape is a good idea. You can also use urethane sealer. twocents

I used clear silicon sealer to put the chrome strips back on my Dart's windows. You could use black also.

The factory used "glass setting tape". It comes in many thicknesses. Mopars used .045" thick tape.

You show that "tape" being used to hold the vent window to the lower chrome piece. The original question was in regards to the vertical 1/4 glass stainless. Does the stuff you linked to work for that application as well or does it take a different thickness?

Edit: Just needed to read a little further. thumbs I need two kits(4 pieces) for my Dart. I'll hit you up if you are going to the Mopar Nats.(if they have it this year)

Also used to hold the chrome trim on on the rear edge of the door glass or the front edge of the quarter glass.

Agreed, originally it was tape on both the back edge vertical trim as well as the vent wing glass.
Ive tried to use it resetting vent wing glass , Had ZERO luck making it work .

went with the butyl in a tube and trimmed off the excess . and never looked back
