A12 Bee reunited with numbers block after nearly 50 years - 03/08/20 12:34 PM

Hey guys, just thought I'd share... After a week of complete and utter excitement mixed in with some anxiety, I have procurred my numbers block for my A12 Bee!!!! The car and block have been seperatd for 30 years according to the legend....I put hands on it at Indy, and I owe all of it to two gentleman.... Matt Hargis(my hero that found it on FB) and Bob Fliess(seller). The reality still hasn't sunk in, but I'm sure it will with time. Photo of myself and Bob with the "BLOCK". That's the real star here.... whistling

Very cool. Are the “whys” of the separation known?

Supposedly had engine trouble and it was pulled in '71....

I found the closest number to my block I have seen yet at the Indy swap, but it was just too "seasoned" to buy it, plus the guy wanted to much for it. Only 942 off, at least I have a firmer understanding of when my block may have been cast, of course you can never know that for sure. Congrats on getting your block, I have been looking since 1995 when I bought my 69 GTS convertible...

That’s awesome. Hopefully the car will make it back to Lexington cars and coffee in the near future.

I actually made the deal for the advertised price before disclosing the info. After chatting for a bit, I realized the guy was a good Mopar dude. After I told him he was as excited as I was about the situation.... maybe not quite as much as I was but..... up
