Need Pics of Factory Style Undercoat '69 Charger - 12/19/19 05:35 AM

Hey All - New here and in process of restoring a #s '69 Charger R/T 4-speed car that I bought in college from the original owner back in '97. Shell is in the body shop and will be in color soon (T7 Bronze). It's a factory J55 full undercoat car and I'm going with Resto Rick's product. Anyone have detail on coverage area, i.e.; is the stop line at the inside of the pinch welds on the sides? What's the proper cutoff point at the front frame rails? Any pics of OEM or nicely restored cars would be appreciated as I didn't take good pics of the undercoat when I tore the car down. Thanks! John

Restoricks stuff is good. I have pics of 69 road runner it should be no different. I think the key to factory undercoat is to get drunk before shooting it on LOL

Yes, being drunk would be good. The factory was very messy at this. BTW, the gas tank was usually installed and got some undercoat as well. Here I was prepping the car for frame connectors, but you get the idea.

Welcome to the board. Cool that it's a slick-top, and that Super Bee reminds me of a buddy's old car out of Simi, CA.

Wish I had some good photos of original front aprons/wheelhouses, but someone else here should.
The various access holes were masked off, typically squarish, by about an inch.
Apply over body color, which was basically mostly overspray.
The stuff was basically hosed on; usually you can see build-up edges side to side on the floor pan as it came out of the gun.
Same kind of buildup is vertical inside the quarter panels.

Went from pinch weld to pinch weld on the sides and the firewall pinch weld to around the gas tank but little to none behind the tank in my case

I have detail pictures of my 69 Charger undercoat from NC. When I restored the car I left the undercoating in place and just freshened up the black. PM me your email, and I can send you many pictures.

Thanks for the info and pics, guys. Much appreciated!! With any luck, the car will be in color and ready to start being pieced back together this winter.
