70 Challenger Bucket Seat Seatbelt Retainers

What’s the sea with seat belt clips on the front of e body buckets? Are they rare, desirable? Do they come in multiple colors or just blacks I know a bodies used them and they were color coded to interior. I am assuming these are part of the C15 option for deluxe seatbelts, but that’s just a guess. Any info would be great, I have a mint black set of them with the metal backing plates, is there any interest in these if so Contact me. ev270rr at gmail dot com

I've never heard of this part and I own a lot of 70 Challengers.

Yes I can tomorrow, the seats were in a challenger that the original owner said he never changed. I’ve only seen them on B body’s I will post a pic tomorrow.

They were included with the C15 Deluxe Seat Belts & color keyed to the interior.

If you have not looked inside the removable backs yet, please check them for broadcast sheets?

They can be dyed.

The last set I saw in Burnt Orange were on seats from a long dead Gran Coupe with cloth insert seats.

Carlisle is coming up & they are always a part I notice.

I'll be there so if you find a set, in any color, before I do - then pick them up and I'll get them from you.

They were only available in black, regardless of the interior colour.

The seat belts were colour keyed to the interior colour, but not the brackets.

That is good news. I checked the ones on my burnt orange interior Challenger convertible and they are black. So I figured painting orange is one more chore to add to my list. But if they were always black, no worries!
However my seat belts are black also, there is probably no way to know if that is what was installed in the factory, despite burnt orange being what was supposed to be installed.

This an E body thing.?

They WERE in colors for 68-70 B-bodies; but it wouldn't surprise me if Chrysler went universal black for at least the E cars.
Chrysler was notorious for squeezing every last penny they could out of production costs.

The style shown in the pictures is 1970 ONLY. They were different in 1969 and 1968. Deluxe aka C15 belts were available on all 1970 cars, A,B,C and E body.
