superbird cluster resto. - 06/05/19 01:42 AM

I refaced my cluster for my bird. I couldn't stand restoring a car and not making the old brown aged numbers look new and white. I don't know if this is frowned upon for original cars...but I wouldn't buy a car with crappy looking gauge cluster.

If I understand the OP correctly, it's a restoration as opposed to an untouched original survivor, right?
Personally, I like to see clean white graphics, and good color on the indicators rather than the yellowed out and faded details.
Nice, clear lenses & crisp plating would be part of a restoration in my mind as well.
I think where the stickers come up short is the area around the odometer opening.
Not a hard fix for that, but more material there would help.
Granted, for a survivor car, that would be the kind of thing that could raise questions, but that's not how I interpreted the OP.

I've owned this car 37 yrs, just got tired of the yellow. As far as value to me that is a moot point, could have sold it a dozen times, still could but never will.Like I said, this one only matters to me.As for the OP,that is his car,his choice to do as he wishes. twocents
