Correct length '68 383 dipstick tube?

402 pan, suspect the dipstick & tube were replaced during restoration.
5 quarts in motor with filter change, spun motor over, dipstick only shows oil at bottom 1/2" of stick. During the oil change it didn't seem like I'd drained 5 out of the thing, but I goofed by not measuring that I guess.
Top of tube also seems to be rearward of what I recall, so if anyone can post a pic of unrestored/original or verified correct setup, I'd appreciate seeing that before I break out the tubing cutter.

I'm on the road right now, I can get you that measurement this weekend if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Sometimes having an automotive library that dates back 50 years pays off: found a few period photos and re-bent & cut the tube.
It was almost 1.5" too long.
I guess everybody's as busy dealing with snow as I've been.
