I use the Rislone 'super concentrate' or whatever they call it in the yellow bottle. Why? Flat tappet lubrication.

VR1, already mixed. Plus, oil plus additive sometimes is more expensive than VR1 at regular price or on sale.

FWIW, Lucas in mine. VR1 is likely less expensive.

I use Gibbs Hot Rod for all my/customer flat tappet engines. Made specifically for street engines in collector, read seasonal cars. Has additives for flat tappets as well as additives for prolonged storage periods. Available in full synthetic or dinosaur. Good stuff. Also use their BR oil for break ins.

I use the Valvoline VR1 also.

Whatever oil is on sale and Lucas break in.
$15 bottle is good for 3 oil changes.
Much more cost effective than paying $10/qt for "racing" oil.
