Source for a Heater Resistor for a 69 Road Runner

I found two NOS ones for different prices but one of them (the cheaper one) has a "U" at the end of the part number, the other doesn't. What does the "U" stand for?

Sorry to hijack.... the resistors aren't that complicated & cannot be seen once installed (resistor side anyway), so is there maybe a way to replace the resistors (3?) in back with something more modern so they function and still "look" stock? Any electronics experts out there?

I've never had to replace one yet but I've always thought that if the need arose I'd try to identify the type, size, and length of Nichrome wire that the originals used and wind my own coils.

Thank you for the replies. The one in the car has a loose terminal but still functional, I am going to secure it but wanted to have one as a back-up just in case. For my C-Body I made my own using bakelite, machined the slots in and used the original resistor which was in good condition (the original bakelite body was cracked). If necessary I can make one, I was just looking for an easier route and have a back-up on hand. Thanks.

Those resistors are still used in vehicles. I don't remember if it was my 99 Dodge Ram or 99 Ford truck that one was bad and I got another from a wrecker. You could probably adapt the resistor coils with very little effort.

Figured out the U. It is the sellers designation for a Used part at the end of the P/N.
