Superbird wing decals - 06/08/17 11:08 PM

When cleaning out my Uncles house I found 2 NOS Superbird wing decals in the original package. They appear to be in good condition but not sure if they are useable. Do they have any value?

Probably not. Those old decals are usually dried out.

If they were stored in a cool, dry place they may be very usable.

I had some Road Runner bird decals that I bought back in the '80's. Went to use one on the dash last year and couldn't get the backing off the sticky side. Even heating with a hair dryer didn't help.

Just throw them on Ebay, some fool with more money than brains, will part with cash for 47 year old NOS decals

I dont know Bill, the decals have aged more since you put yours on then the age yours were.

I had NOS wing and quarter decals that were unuseable.

Thanks for the replies. Tried lifting an edge they do not seem like they would come off. Just did not want to throw them out. At least the NOS nose went to someone who could use it.

Give an HONEST description and put them on Ebay. They may have value to someone. You never know.

I have a few NOS decals and parts that I just keep because they are in the original packaging and I think they are cool. So although I wouldn't try to use your decals myself there might be a freak out there like me that would just want to have them and not use them.

Bill, Im guess mine were not stored very well, the lettering would not release from the facing.

i'm one of those fools with no brains
why?
because the repos look WRONG.
one of the cool things that i really liked about our mopars
is how they looked in the dark under light.
the original decals were reflective and
look awesome in the dark
where the repos are flat and look like dog crap
compared to a original.
so as far as i'm concerned,
i only have one choice if i want to get the look i want.

nos is your only option.

Re: Superbird wing decals - 07/01/17 03:01 AM

Hello all,

I used a pair of PLYMOUTH white 1/4 decals on my B5 Super Bird that were over 20 years old, that were absolute pristine factory original NOS. No yellowing, cracking, shrinking, or what ever else you may think. They stuck like crazy, too.

Regards,

Vinny
