On a 71 RR was the silver at the bottom of the grill, would that be light Argent, or medium Argent Silver. Mine was so faded that I feel we painted it the wrong shade.
I've never seen any factory documentation for the actual paint color, but in my experience looking at original cars including my own it was fairly dark.
I've always thought they where med.argent,I have NOS headlight bezels that probably don't match one another I could check If I only knew how to post pictures.

Years ago, before I new about the existence of Mopart.com, I made a choice to paint the bottom part of my grill with a textured paint that was very similar to the type of paint you'd find on 71 wheel centre caps for Rallye rims. I think I used a paint offered by Dupli-color very close to dark argent. Would this be considered by most to be correct?
No, that is not even near the same. Nobody makes any kind of paint that even close to 71 wheel center paint. It is very rough, and has flecks of gold, or copper in it.
i did one of my grilles in argent and it looks great but it is not correct.. word on the street is that eastwood spray gray is the closest match to original..ymmv
Last 3 71 Road Runner grilles I restored, I used Eastwood's Cast Iron spray. Nearly a perfect match to a low mile original that my buddy owns. Paint the grey first then tape it off a few days later and do the black if necessary. You'll like the results.
