New 1970 online Build Sheet Decoder for E-Bodies.

New 1970 online Build Sheet Decoder for E-Bodies. - 05/06/17 05:14 AM

About 8 months ago we started working on the first ever online Build Sheet Decoder. The only way to make a Build Sheet (Broadcast) decoder accurate was to make it specific a year and model. And this one is accurate from the exact time the sheet was printed to the bearing part number in the clutch pedal. This decoder is for 1970 E-Bodies only. The plan is to add a 1971 E-Body decoder next and if we get good feedback there has been talk of adding some B-Bodies too.

I want to thank Dan (6bblgt) and Tavis (cataclysm80) for all their help and everyone who contributed by sharing images of their build sheets and knowledge. Together as a group we have created a very neat and cool tool that should add value to any 1970 E-Body owner with a sheet.

If you have a 1970 E-Body sheet please take a few minutes and run it through the decoder. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Take care my Mopar Brothers and Sisters!

CC,

Very nicely done. This obviously took some time to put together. I wish I had an E Body to run through it.

Thank you for the contribution to the hobby!!

Great job on the site, the non-forum collection of info is outstanding.
Can't imagine the complexities of programming code "if/then" for a BS, so thanks all for contributing to the hobby. Also hope you do a Bbody BS.

Of course "BS.com" is already taken. But "buildsheet.com" is available, maybe you should reserve it and become the defacto site in all the world?

That's a good idea to buy buildsheets.com, but I see it's got a pretty high asking price. More then I can spend on a website. smile

Also, if anyone gets an "Unknown" code please let me know. I just want to make sure we have the best decoder possible. You can send me a private message on here if you don't want to post your build sheet. But it helps a lot if you can send a photo build sheet you are having any issues with....(even if it's a close up of the area of the build sheet if you prefer).

CC and Team, what a great tool. Very Nice.
Thank You.

How difficult would it be to add a second page that would show what pricing would have been on the window sticker?

I like it! Anything can be done. It's time and money. smile Right now I'm focused on getting the next decoders built, but I will keep your idea in mind once I get them done.

Thank You. smile

Hey, that's a great idea! I like that.
I wonder if any of the pricing changed mid year. We might have to reference the build date in addition to the option code to make it accurate.

broadcastsheets.com might be better anyway.
These sheets have "broadcast" written right on them.

E-bodies.org is a great home for the E body decoders, but I'm not sure where we'd keep B body decoders at.
Not sure the B body guys would find them on an E body site.

Nothing is for sure, but B-Bodies.org seems like the likely place for the B-Body decoders. whistling

Since you may be the first successful input/output format, I was thinking ahead on "buildsheet.com" because I think that's what GM/Ford refers to them (disclaimer shown that Mopar uses "broadcast"!). Farm out/license separate programming for one stop shopping on all car models, a decoder site to rule the industry!

Not that you aren't busy enough, of course. Aren't some of you living in the WA and Vancouver area buds with Jeff Bezos? Calling all seed money . . .
