E body Hemi Tag

A friend of mine was cleaning out his garage and found this tag. He can't remember where it came from. I told him some of the early E-bodies had this tag.

Does this tag look legit? Real or not? The primer is throwing me off, and it is in really nice shape.

Looks like something found under the carpet or somewhere in the interior that was thrown in there during original assembly.

Looking at the screw holes, it's never been installed.

E bodies with hemi's in them had that tag. they had special rolled fender edges so the bigger front tires wouldn't rub on the fenders. hemi cars got wider front tires than regular cars. this is why the tag reads hemi fender.
that tag and the special fenders were also used on TA challengers and AAR cudas

The fenders may have been used( there are some doubts about that, too) but I've never seen that tag in an AAR or T/A before. I own two AARs.

I've never seen a Hemi tag on a T/A or AAR either.

They never put that tag on a TA/AAR, but they did roll the fenders.......

Does any of the tag experts think this is an original tag?

Its an original tag, looks to be in great shape too.

I had an AAR roll through the shop for paint in the early eighties that had one on it. I have to feel that was original as the car was a real untouched PA original mess. Original FY1 and changed to to B5. Only a $900. used car back then. As rural as we are I doubt someone found a Hemi e body and stole the tag.

yep!!! learned that from you and researched it when i had my t/a.. very few people beleive it tho!!

Yup. My original paint AAR does not have rolled fenders.
