are 71 b-body danas rare - 01/28/16 06:26 PM

I was working on my 70 cuda the other day and found the codes on my danas axle tubes. It is 9-15-OA1 9-15-70 B7 603222-1 which makes it a lynch rd. b-body 3:54? The perches must have been moved because these are longer than an e-body.
I just didn't know how rare these danas are?

They are fairly hard to find, but do pop up regularly. The correct e-body Dana is more desirable though.

Hard to find and fairly rare. Still anything E Body brings a premium

I was getting ready to change it to a 4:10 and since my car is non-numbers matching I thought I would check to see how rare they are before I did incase someone with a #s matching car really needed it.

What makes you think it's a Lynch Rd. rear end ?

It's going to cost you more to replace the rear with an E body rear, or get a rear from a place like strange, because the perches have been moved so it's going to sell for less than one that has not been dicked with.

It's set up in your car, change the gears .

I would agree. Just use it or offer it up as trade bait.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll just change the gear and be happy with the lack of extra work.

In the date is says it was 9-15-0 A1 A is lynch road. 9-15-70 B7 just thought the A meant lynch. Not really sure.

A is first shift. 1 is line 1

B is second shift. 7 is line 7

If A was lynch Rd., that means the B meant that they changed their mind and went to Hamtramck.

thanks for the info. I couldn't figure out why it was stamped with 2 different 9-15-70 dates.
