1966 Barracuda Windshield recommendations

We need to replace the windshield in my buddys 1966 Barracuda with Air.

In searching we have see tinted windshields priced from $150 - 600. Does anyone have recommendations on where to purchase the tinted windshield, gasket and chrome locking strip. It appeared that Steele was a good source for the gasket and locking strip.

Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated.

Just remember that there are three different types of WS colors.. I bring this up because so many people think a "shaded" ws is a "tinted"..

Clear - tinted - shaded

A tinted has a light tint ( usually either green or bluish) throughout the entire ws..
A shaded ws will be tinted with a DARK shaded band at the top..

Thanks for taking the time to reply. All we have been able to locate are either clear or tinted. The factory windshield that is in the car appears to be tinted so that will be the path we take based on what is available.

Cant say for sure but shaded WS's might not have been available in that car. I would think that it would be the easiest to locate...

Wow...nice R/T. I think the biggest issue he is struggeling with is why is one $148.00 from Rock Auto and why is one $600.00 from someone else.

Both are supposed to be a blue-green tint.

Have you tried any of your local Auto glass shops??
