I'm driving my resto agm battery (Turbo Start) for 6 years now with no problems

Lead acid from New Castle Battery when it was still Turbo Start,10 yrs old still going strong and was never connected to a battery tender.!

My AGM TurboS working for 6yrs and going strong. I do use a Batt Tender.
My lead one lasted 3 yrs. Think it depends on ambient conditions etc.
