Picked up a nice airbox from the swap meet a few weeks ago. Just curious what is the best product you guys have found to cleaning these up? And making it look nice again. Thanks

I use lots of Simple Green. It is safe on the material and it is not too hard on your lungs. Use lots of it, let it work in and gently wipe down and use a garden hose to wash the muck off of the fiberglass. You want to try and leave the factory finish ( or lack of) without having to paint it.

There was a really good thread on this at one point....think it was maybe member 70 Buzz....Anyhow, I remember lemon pledge as an agent to bring back the color from the faded pces. hopefully someone will chime in.

Cheers,
Dave

I used Simple Green and a MR. Clean pad and my heater box came out like 1970 new!

I seem to remember someone saying to use tung oil to bring the color back. Better check on that.

Light coat of satin clear. Or even hand polishing can bring color back. I've also seen people fine glass bead them at low pressure to knock oxidation off.
