Hood Marking On 71 Cuda

Hood Marking On 71 Cuda - 10/27/14 12:34 AM

I have been very curious about this for some time:

On my own 71 340 Cuda convertible, and on a friends 71 Barracuda convertible in the following post, there is a number code written in yellow crayon (in the photo, to the right of the hood safety hook and latch loop on both cars) that reads "95". My car is non-A/C, and the 318 car is an A/C car.

Does anyone have this on their original car, and does anyone have any idea of the significance?

Thanks,

Bill Rolik

Bill- I just looked at my '71 original EV2 340 Cuda and it does not have the #. My guess is it's an inspection person (#95) etc. as it went down the final line at the assembly plant.

I was a UAW employee for 10 years & worked in the final assy. area as a utility person- having to repair or upgrade mistakes as the line moved along.
