Is there a company you can send a distributor out to, that will restore it like new?

Thanks

We do them also, with or without the pertronix upgrade.

I'd sure like to hear how they can replate a 1970 style vacuum advance or rebuild the breaker plate with it's sealed in bearing.

Joe,have done a lot of Prestolite plates, the advance with retard solenoid is a different story.

All distributors I can think of had the vacuum advance halves plated before they were crimped together with the rubber diaphragm inside. How you can replate it seems impossible to me so I have always obtained NOS ones when restoring distributors.

There's a lot of new masking agents and "plugs" available in the plating and powder coating industry today, even "wetting agents" so that non conductive items can be plated, or powdercoated...you can even powdercoat glass nowadays

Everything falls under "where there's a will, there's a way, how much do you want to pay"...
