spare tire color - 03/27/14 02:33 PM

I have an ORIGINAL 1969 redline spare tire that has a gray/brown haze all over it (from age). How can I turn it back to a black tire for show purposes ONLY. I do not want it to be a shiny black but a natural looking spare. I have tried most of the commercial shelf items and after it dries, the tire still has that gray look. any recommendations?

Have you tried Westley's Bleach White?

I have soda blasted and media blasted (200grit) tires with good results, did it for a customer last week. they looked like new when I was done. but.. they were white lettered not sure if the redline would be ok.

I use the Meguiars #40 Vinyl and Rubber cleaner / conditioner and brings it back to a nice dark black color without leaving that greasy shiny looking finish. If anything, it gives it a satin shine look to it which is not that much.
