Thanks,

Depending on who you buy them from, they should have a pre cut glass qtr window angle guide to the decal backing for A, B, or E body application, so that it's a no guessing application

I'd recommend ECS for your decals

if you got to "rough it" with some generic bee decals, maybe this will help

Did '71's still even get 1/4 window bees though?

FWIW, the parts book shows the bees for Challengers only in '71. Of course in '70 they are shown for Challenger/Dart/Coronet/Charger.

Thanks guys!! Don't know why I keep thinking it's a 71 cause it's a 70!! I got the licensed bees so I hope it has the cut corner. Going to look at a 71 convertible next week. Maybe that it what is clouding my mind(or what's left of it).

Thanks,
Bob

I do think the bees are the exception rather than the rule on '71 Challengers, but I always like to put them on.

Even have a set to go on the new SRT8....

Where did you get your bee from?? The piece of crap I got won't release from the clear plastic backing. Unless they expact me to leave the big square plastic backing on?? Or am I doing something wrong.

Thanks,
Bob

The originals had a clear backing around them as well but was a shadow maybe 1/8" around the bee. I would just trim the repros like that. I have a set of the repros on my 05 truck and I was too lazy to trim them so they have the big square surrounding the bee.

I suppose I could do that but now that ones is attached to the window... hopefully someone will chime in with a good supplier. The rest of the car is coming out soo good I hate to have a small detail part like that look like a blind monkey cut it out for me!!

Thanks,

Thanks "Floyd"!! I am about a week away from putting on the nameplates you did for me. This little stuff to find is what drives you nuts! Looks like I will have to adjust the cut/alignment angle, but THAT cutting even I can do!!!

Thanks,
Bob

The repro bees I've seen come two ways. One is like yours, which is a square plastic border and is part of the actual decal. I bought mine 10 years ago, and mine came pre-trimmed to the exact shape of the bee. They look a lot better trimmed. I don't remember where I bought mine.

Sounds like you have the ones with the clear square border. i would take a small pair of precision scissors and trim them before applying them to the window.

Re: 71 Challenger q window bee - 10/14/13 02:58 AM

Bought a pair of originals years ago. Not sure about the shelf life of the originals, I would rather go with a good repro. Sometimes the originals dry up and do not go on very well but sometimes you get luck like Floyd has with buying from Mitchels. On my Two Challenger that I presently own, none of the cars ever had the Bees on the quarter windows. I also parted out two other 1971 Challenger that never had the Bees both none tint cars. The 1971 Challengers that I own have tint one an RT and the other is a Convertible with AC and I like them without the Bees but that is only my personal liking. Others think the Bees are part of the Dodge thing and should be on the car.

Does anyone really know why some Challengers do not have the Bees and some do have the Bees. I really do see a lot more 1971 Challengers that are close to original condition that do not have the Bees.

ALL of my vehicles have Scat Bees somewhere on the side windows! That's the first thing I do when I get them home (well - my Cudas don't wear them). New Challenger, new Ram, wife's 300M, & my 2007 Charger.

I had some made-up out of solid material & they are trimmed:
