B-body sill plate question

B-body sill plate question - 05/24/08 11:43 PM

I purchased a set of repro sill plates a couple years ago for my 69 super bee. Today I attempted to intall them, but they are fighting me. They are not the same contour as the originals, and do not fit terribly well where they attach over the windlace.
So, who makes the best repro sill plates? I bought mine from a major vendor. Again, this was a couple years ago, so perhaps there are better ones on the market.

No insight that will help you but I would like to know why, when someone has an original part for a pattern they can't make the d@mn thing right. All you hear are horror stories about reproduction parts that don't fit or are made half@ssed.

I hav felt that way throught my car's restoration.
Still, a few of you must have encounted this problem and solved it with a good solution.

Use good original used parts and restore them or find NOS. Otherwise, you just have to make do with what's available.
