3 Speed Wiper Motor Interchange - 05/07/13 10:49 PM

I purchased an NOS 3 speed wiper motor off eBay a while back and afterwards discovered that the numbers on it indicated that it was for a '76 F-body. I was planning to use it in my '73 Road Runner, but thought I read somewhere that there was a difference in the park location? I can't seem to find this information now as I'm preparing to install the new wiper motor and linkage. I do have the original wiper motor from the car, but it looks terrible and I don't want to use it. I did open up both wiper motors the other day to look for any differences, but couldn't tell anything different just by looking at them. Is there a way to modify or convert the F-body wiper motor for my application and if so what parts are needed, or could I swap from my old wiper motor? I have read the section in the 1973 Plymouth factory service manual regarding wiper motors, but still am not sure what to do. Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

Your original motor should have part number 3431665.
Position the switch plate on your new motor to the location shown in the diagram below for a 3431077 motor.
The switch plate is the large black cap plate on the housing where the wires are soldered.
You will see a tooth on the plate at about the 10 o'clock position.
Use your original crank arm.
Check wiring length and plug.
Make sure your wiring is in the same slots as your original motor.
If you have any problems call me.

Jules, thank you so much for the diagram, that is exactly what I needed to know! I already addressed the wiring, so I should only need to reposition the switch plate. If I run into any problems I'll be in touch. Thanks again!
