70 Challenger A/C Water Valve Bracket - 03/30/13 10:38 PM

Hi All,

A mate and I are putting together a 70 Challenger R/T and it was an original A/C Car.

We're not installing the A/C, but dont want to preclude fitting it later ( it still has all the gear inside the car but not the compressor, dryer, etc). When he purchased the A/C gear was already removed.

Cutting a long story short we've purchased the water valve kit but there appears to be a bracket missing where it attaches to the inner fender.

We've searched high and low and cant seem to get a clear idea of what's missing. Attched is a photo of a small block installation - the bracket that appears to be missing is the one that connects the inner fender to the valve (I think theres more than one piece to the bracket) Can someone please help?

Thanks

Shannon

Hello ! Well, as you've found out the challenger fender bracket is not with that kit...That kit was actually a service kit that spanned a broad range of vehicles including trucks and the larger mopar cars...The good news is you have the correct clip with that kit that you do need... And the bracket you need is available...Here's the link to the bracket with the correct finish... .. LINK And some reading material for you with some good info... WATER VALVE INFO And on a final note, the pic you've supplied does'nt look like an original type bracket...At least not for a US released car...I'm not sure if an export vehicle somehow managed to get a different bracket but anythings possible..Where did you find that pic ??? Judging by the incorrect finish on the hose fittings I'd say somebody used whatever they had at the time correct or not...

Hi,

Thanks for that much appreciated! My mate found the photo off of the web somewhere (not his car) and that was the best view of the bracket we could get to try and match up.

I'll check out the links and re post if I need anything else.

Again, thanks very much for your assistance!!!

Hi All,

THanks for your previous help. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction (again). This could be the longest running reassembly of a car ever!

Got the heater valve and everything is sweet but when installing the cable I accidently broke the clip that attaches the cable to the valve (small black part in the bottom RH corner of the photo above).

Does anyone know where we could get one from. I'm feeling a bit guilty for breaking it.

Try R/T Specialties for the clips

Thanks Mate.

We had the larger bracket already so that's cool. Got the little bracket from R/T specialties as suggested. Thanks for your help!
