Cuda hood safety latch date code

I had a guy contact me looking for a date coded hood safety latch for a Cuda. I have one that has a date of 1970 (July 16, 1970). My question is, is this considered a late 1970 or an early 1971? I am thinking I took it off of a flat 71 Barracuda that was sold to cut a hole for a tunnelrammed car many years ago, but am unsure. Any thoughts of a cutoff date?

It would be for either, but most likely for a 71 car. That latch was the same for both year cars.

Thank you m46rat, just heard back from them and mine is too late anyway, they are doing an earlier 70 R/T. This was the earliest one that I had so I figured I'd find out what year it was anyway.

The hood latches are totally different for 70 and 71 so only a picture can truly tell what year car it went on.
