Detailed pics of a Cuda rear elastomeric bumper fit - 09/20/12 08:55 AM

Can anyone please post detailed pics of the ends of the elastomeric rear bumper-to-quarter panel and top view of tailpanel-to-rear bumper?
Checking the fit of rear elastomeric bumper from Gene Gregory on a '71 Cuda. The ends seem to be contacting too "early". Wanted to make sure if I need to shim it out or fit it to the quarter.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Randy! Thanks as always
I tried that earlier but can't find really good close ups. Crossing my fingers someone has some really good documented pics

I just installed one of Gene's bumpers on a 71'.
I'll get some photos this weekend for you. I did have to shim the bumpetr out some, but I think alot of that was due to repro quarters.

Hey Pete! Thanks for chiming in! That's exactly what I was thinking, the repro quarters are affecting it. Glad to read shimming worked out. Look forward to your pics. Thanks

Hey Al, your Cuda was the first rubber bumper Cuda I've ever seen when I saw it at Nassau Coliseum. Still one of my favorite '71's Love the Cragar wheels

Here are the photos: Passenger side fits much better than the drivers side. I ended up having to shim both sides (which I hate to do) but it was the only way to get the bumper to even come close to fitting. I also had to "tweak" the bumper brackets a little.
The bumper was fine, the brackets were fine/ no damage. I'm 99% sure most of the issues were from the repro (older china repro) quarters and the guy who installed them.

Al, you def got your money's worth out of those tires lol!
I'm not the only one you left an impression on, my older brother ended up painting his '70 Challenger black cherry with flat black '71 RT stripes cause he loved your color. Next time I'm back in NYC I'll look you up!
