1973 400 4bbl kick down linkage - what's it look like? - 07/26/12 12:53 AM

I have some kick down linkage from a '73 400 2bbl & the parts catalog shows different bracket & rod for 400 4bbl and other part#s for 440.
What's the difference? Anyone got pics? What's the non-A/C throttle return spring bracket look like?

The 4-barrel carb throttle lever sits further forward than the 2-barrel so the top link is longer. Also, the 440 block is taller than the 400 so the rod is shaped differently.

The '73 Parts catalog shows the LINK (14-11-18) to be the same 400 2bbl/400 4bbl/440 4bbl B & C-body - part #3671 708.

It also shows the STABILIZER (14-11-55) to be the same 400 2bbl/400 4bbl/440 4bbl B & C-body - part #3418 807.

BRACKET (14-26-6) any tips to ID one from the other?
400 2bbl #3418 810
400 4bbl #3577 550
440 4bbl #3577 553

ROD (14-11-9) any tips to ID one from the other?
400 2bbl #3462 760
400 4bbl #3577 555
440 4bbl #3577 556

Someone have a STOCK '72-'73 400 440 Road Runner or Charger they could take a look at & comment?

Am I correct that the "spring loaded" transmission end of the rod started in '74?

A lot of the rods have a part number stamped in them at the top. That might help you a little
