reproduction - restoration batteries - 07/08/12 04:26 PM

Do the newer restoration batteries have AGM guts in them now? anyone buy one recently? Bought one several years back and it was a real turd...only lasted 2 seasons and it leaked. Swore I would never buy another one, but they look so cool and if they are better these days I am gunna get one. Any insight or recommendations is greatly appreciated. I believe I need the group 27 with red caps. (early build date, 1972 b body with a 400.)

I've got a turbostart AGM lasting for 6 years now...But it's hooked up to the battery tender when in between use as suggested by the manufacturer...Now I use a multi-station unit for more than one car...

As mentioned use a battery tender during down times..
AGM batteries act strange if run down and recharged again, a battery tender eliminates the long down times....

Just my $0.02..
