70 Challenger 3 speed wiper - motor, switch,harness ? - 03/04/12 10:48 PM
I have a 70 Challenger that I pretty much bought in parts. The dash was in the car as was the wiper motor and switch and all the wiring appeared to be hooked up. The fender tag says it is supposed to have 3 spd wipers. When I took it all apart to clean and paint the dash frame I found that the wiper switch only clicks to the right twice but the motor looks like a 3 speed motor. Is the dash harness the same for 2 and 3 speed motors regardless which motor you have? I am thinking someone may have swapped out the switch panel.

Yes.
Check to see if your wiper motor dash swwitch plugs are like this.

Yes, that is what my harness looks like.
Maybe I made an error on the codes.
The harness on the wiper motor motor is set up like what the shop manual shows for a two speed. Is there an obvious difference between a 2 and 3 speed motor on the E Bodies? The two speed in my Charger is totally different but the 3 speed in my 73 barracuda looks similar.

Thanks Jules! I thought so but wasn't 100% sure. So I have a 3 speed motor and a two speed switch, that's just great!

For 70 you need a variable speed switch that ends with part number 380.

Thanks again. Now I have to find one.
I also have to check the motor.
I found a thread where you explained how to test a 3 speed motor.
