Looking to get my driveshaft balanced. Also get my tailshaft leak fixed; think its the bearing since replacing the rear seal didn't help. Any good shops in Mass preferably in the South Shore area? Thanks.

A transmission shop is going to send your driveshaft out to a driveline shop to have it balanced , they don't have the equipment usually to do that .
Where is your leak on the trans ? what year is the car you are dealing with ?

The leak is at the tailshaft seal. I've replaced the seal and used sealant. Still leaks out. Made sure I lubed up the seal before I put it in so it wouldn't tear.

Is there a lot of up and down movement on the yoke in the back of the trans? What does the yoke look like ? Did you use a Booted seal like the factory ? There was a change over on rear yoke design where a seal used to be internal to the trans.
What year is the car in question , is it the original driveshaft and yoke ?

Used the booted seal. It's the original yoke and shaft. At least I think so not sure. Doesn't seem loose. The seal vibrated its way off thats why I am getting the shaft balanced. Drove it on the highway and it vibrates in a certain rpm range. So I replaced the seal used sealant and it still leaks. Comes from where the yoke meets the seal.The trans is not original; bought a street/strip trans.

Sorry 67 Belvedere. But like I said trans is not original and I don't think the driveshaft is either.

there is also a bushing.the seal should not have vibrated off.it was not installed correctly.

Leaking from seal. I can see it right at the end of the seal lip. I made sure the surface was not gouged or anything when I put the new one on. Used a lite layer of sealant when I put it back on. Left it sitting there for a day to make sure it dried.Fired it up then drove it backwards. Checked it and it was leaking. Made sure I put some trans fluid on the inside lip so it wasn't dry and rip.
The seal came off when I drove it down the highway for about an hour or so. Driving about 60 mph. Did not leak before this and I have driven it about 1500 miles around town. When I stopped I could see the seal sitting on the shaft.
As far as the vibration goes it vibrates between 50 to 60 mph. I sort of noticed it before but really noticed it w/ the 4.10s on the highway. Thats why I figured the driveshaft is out of balance. The new gears buzzed the engine higher on the highway and made it more noticeable.
